itunes 7.6 needs rollback rx
so when i got back from whistler, it was time to update my ipods to the latest podcasts i watch/listen to.
i fire up itunes (i was using 7.5) and it says there’s a new version… once that’s updated it tells me there’s a new version of the firmware for the ipod nano video.
once all is updated, i update my podcasts and about 15 seconds into the sync it crashes. i decline to "send a report to microsoft". i’m pretty sure that’s an exercise in futility.
i reinstal itunes, restore the ipod…still crashes. i try to install an earlier version, itunes won’t let you. you have to uninstall first… anyway i install v7.5, but same crashing during sync.
enter rollback rx. that’s like a fast stable version of norton’s goback. i just rolled back to a time when i knew itunes 7.5 was the current version.
then i made a trip to a big box store and got one of the new creative zen flash video players. i have an hd version, but i like the idea of the non-drive version (which is one the reason i bought an ipod nano video in the first place).
if it wasn’t for rollback rx i wouldn’t be typing this right now.
i’m sure there a a ton of apple fan boys out there who had no problems with the install and operation of 7.6, here’s a cookie (::)
i’m sticking with 7.5 until apple forces me to upgrade. i’ll give it another shot then…
